CircularRNAsarealargeclassofnoncodingRNAthathaveshownhugecapabilitiesasgeneregulators.RecentevidencesuggestthatcircularRNAsareassociatedwithmanydiseases,especiallycancer.However,littleattentionhasbeenfocusedontheexpressionandfunctionofcircularRNAingastriccancer(GC).Inthisstudy,wedemonstratethattheexpressionofcirc-isdownregulatedinGCtissuesandcelllines.Alowerexpressionofcirc-appearedindeeperinvasiondepth,highertumorstageandmorefrequentlymphaticmetastasispatients.Overexpressionofcirc-effectivelyinhibitedtheproliferation,migrationandinvasionabilitiesofGCcellsinvitro.Westernblotshowedthatcirc-overexpressionupregulatedE-cadherinanddownregulatedN-cadherin,VimentinandSlug,indicatingthatcirc-wasinvolvedintheepithelial–mesenchymaltransitionprocess.Ourresultsrevealedthatcirc-mightbeanovelpotentialtumorsuppressorandbiomarkerofGC.
